PleurX Vacuum Bottle with Drainage Line for Pleural Catheter System is designed to work with an indwelling catheter and active vacuum technology to help patients drain pleural fluid quickly and comfortably without relying on gravity. It can also be used in place of a chest tube to deliver talc or bleomycin for chemical pleurodesis procedures.

The system is designed to help patients manage recurrent pleural effusions and malignant ascites at home. A polyester cuff promotes tissue ingrowth, helps reduce the risk of infection, and helps hold the catheter in place, while the safety valve helps prevent air or fluid from inadvertently passing through the catheter.
